This three-day introduction to evidence-based Dental Sleep Medicine is designed to prepare dentists and their teams to confidently identify, refer and help co-manage patients with snoring and deadly obstructive sleep apnea. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the relationships between sleep breathing disorders, neuromuscular dentistry and health. They can discover how to get started, immediately expanding their diagnostic acumen and scope of practice.
The goal of this course is for all attending dentists to become the Dental Sleep Physicians that medical sleep specialists want and need to refer patients. The possibility of knowing what to do about OSA when you return to your office on Monday morning should encourage you to experience this course!
The objectives of this course are for the participant to be able to:
- Discuss sleep and breathing physiology; normal and pathologic.
- Integrate OSA signs and symptoms into routine dental diagnostics.
- Identify and differentiate OSA sufferers versus snorers with 99% accuracy.
- Perform OSA Consultation examination/palpation.
- Select snoring and OSA appliances.
- Understand medical appliance fabrication.
- Implement the Romanced Bite Registration technique to avoid side effects.
- Understand the use of the various instrumentaton available.
- Utilize a marketing strategy for DSM practice growth and success.

Faculty Bio
Dr. Allman is the founder of the TMJ Therapy and Sleep Center of Nevada and is dedicated to the advancement of Dental Sleep Medicine in general dental practice. He is co-founder of Dental Sleep Digest, a magazine dedicated to clinical DSM practice and The OSA: Online Sleep Academy, a monthly interactive webinar series for dentists serious about advanced patient therapy education.
His journey includes 7 Fellowship and Diplomate awards, Senior International Association for Orthodontics Instructor, 5,000 + hours of continuing education, 25 years of dental practice and the loss of his mother due to untreated OSA. Dr. Allman’s mantra is “Airway is King and Tongue Volume is Queen” and it his hope that all dentists become proficient Dental Sleep Physicians.
