LVI Smile Design

This three-day, hands-on program is designed to enable the dental technician to develop the confidence and skills required to communicate with the dentist and thereby achieve optimal aesthetic results. Participants will fabricate an 8-10 unit anterior ceramic case on a typodont.

It is the goal of LVI to provide education that will allow the participant to deliver the highest level of dentistry – and this delivery of information starts with the technician. Today’s technological advancements require a higher level of awareness of the products and skills required to elevate technicians to better standards of practice.

The objectives of this course are for the participant to be able to:

  • Understand the architecture of the LVI Smile Design through proper case planning.
  • Establish correct form, contour and function with the pre-operative wax-up model.
  • Complete an accurate transfer of the pre-operative wax-up or temporary model to the die model.
  • Understand cut back and staining techniques to deliver natural looking crowns and veneers.
  • Recognize the proper use of materials to ensure longevity to pressable ceramic techniques (includes porcelain ingot, grinding instruments, temperatures, etc.).
  • Complete the mounting of HIP and use the cranial analyzer.
