LVI is bringing this 3-day foundational course to Schaumburg. This course explores the diagnostic relationships that can shape complex restorative, bite, TMJ, airway, and full-mouth cases.
Course Objectives
- Identify musculoskeletal signs and symptoms of TMD
- Discuss why and how to take a physiologic bite and its relationship to the rest of the body
- Review how to construct an ideal physiologic orthotic
- Explore bruxism and grinding concerns through a physiologic diagnostic lens
- Discuss bite positions related to headache, neck pain, and back pain
- Identify underlying causes of malocclusion and why they matter in treatment planning
- Identify why Class II and Class III malocclusions may develop
- Discuss which cosmetic cases may require additional multidisciplinary treatment planning
- Discuss the relationship between airway and TMD

Dr. David Schmidt began his LVI journey in 2003 after coming to Las Vegas for an anterior veneer course. What started as a search for stronger aesthetic training became a much broader shift in how he viewed dentistry, patient care, practice ownership, and long-term professional growth.
