Full Face Orthodontics “F2O” Physiologic Orthodontics
- Posted on: Apr 30 2021
Course Type: Orthodontics Curriculum
This orthodontic course is designed to teach epigenetic orthodontic development utilizing physiologic appliances. By controlling the direction of dento-alveolar remodeling, dramatic improvements in jaw position, function and aesthetics are achieved. Conventional retraction orthodontics in nearly all cases is contraindicated with protraction mechanics becoming established as the standard of care for orthodontic treatment. Whereas it was previously thought not possible, patients of any age can benefit from the orthopedic concepts presented in this course. Topics discussed are: recognizing the underdeveloped mid-face, facial biology of remodeling addressing both maxillary and mandibular remodeling and development, fixed and removable anterior remodeling appliances, myofunctional considerations and their impact on proper development of occlusion. Doctors and team are encouraged to attend this course together and it is suggested to submit cases from their own practices for group participation of diagnosis and treatment planning.
