The LVI Story

William G. Dickerson, DDS, FAACD, LVIM, LVIF:

LVI Global is an international institution dedicated to the progress of the dental profession through the integration of comprehensive diagnosis, contemporary techniques and technology. The continuing education offered at LVI is designed to improve the lives of patients and enhance professional satisfaction.

It all started with Dr. Bill Dickerson.

Dr. Dickerson graduated from the UOP School of Dentistry in 1976 and completed a year long hospital residency program at Valley Medical center in Fresno, CA upon graduation. Disenchanted with dentistry, he sought to find a “better way” after 10 years of practice. His subsequent success and enjoyment of his “new found” profession catapulted him into a highly sought after lecture career in 1989. Bill started sharing his passion with other dentists and quickly became recognized as a respected opinion leader and highly sought after speaker as well as one of the most influential people in dentistry.

In 1993, Dr. William Dickerson was asked by Baylor College of Dentistry to develop the first live patient treatment program for dentist in the United States. In 1994, Bill’s efforts have been channeled into creating the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI Global), providing an educational forum for advancing cosmetic dentistry, and developing many aesthetic and occlusal techniques that enhanced comprehensive restorative procedures.

The first building of the LVI Global campus construction was completed in 1998 and the additional building on the 5 acre campus in 2003 providing over 60,000 sq/ft of educational facility. This includes 8 lecture halls, a 60 bench hands-on laboratory, two live patient clinics containing 20 working dental operatories as well as a teaching operatory that allows video of procedures to be broadcast or watched in other locations around campus. A lecture hall and hands-on teaching lab that is equipped with monitors at each station for using advanced computerized diagnostic technology. The clinical operatories are all equipped with state of the art diagnostic computerized jaw tracking and sonography as well as EMG scanning technology.
