Dr. Makarita graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1988, and maintains a private practice in Oakton, Virginia with an emphasis on aesthetic reconstructive and Physiologic Based dentistry.

Dr. Makarita was awarded Mastership status in the Academy of General Dentistry. He is among an elite group of cosmetic dentists who have achieved Accredited Fellowship status by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (FAACD).

In addition, he has achieved Mastership status with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), where he is a clinical instructor .  His cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry has been featured twice on the cover of the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry and he has authored clinical articles related to TMD, occlusion, intraoral photography and aesthetic dentistry.
