Leo J. Malin, DDS

Dr. Leo Malin is a highly respected dentist and leader in implantology. As Chief Customer Officer of Implant Logistics, Dr. Malin is responsible for ensuring a superior customer experience through doctor customer education and support. In his role, he is charged with clinical training on surgical and restorative phases of implant dentistry, and clinical trials of new products that can effect better outcomes.

Dr. Malin brings decades of leadership to Implant Logistics. Dr. Malin received his DDS degree from Marquette University in 1991. Since 1993, Dr. Malin has practiced general dentistry in La Crosse, Wisconsin. For more than a decade, his practice has focused solely on surgical and restorative implant dentistry. An industry leader, Dr. Malin has continually introduced innovative products to the market. In 1997, along with other experts in the fields of radiology and occlusion, Dr. Malin developed occlusion-based implant placement using tomographic imaging and adjustable guides to control implant placement — optimizing bite alignment as part of treatment planning for dental implant treatment. This technique has led to four U.S. patents and provided exceptional clinical implant surgical and restorative results.

Dr. Malin invested in one of the first dental computed tomography (CT) in the U.S. to apply the technology to Implant Surgical Planning. He brought Co-Diagnostic Treatment Planning to the U.S. and developed a treatment planning business to assist doctors with treatment planning cases for the best restorative outcome.

Dr. Malin was the first in the U.S. to offer mobile 3D imaging to dentists and dental implant surgical guides and case planning services. He also developed a robust tapered implant system and implant manufacturing and distribution company to better serve the dental implant market.

In addition to his role at Implant Logistics, Dr. Malin leads education for doctors on new products and protocols as Director of the Dominican Training Institute. He was also the Director of Implantology and Bone Grafting Courses at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). In 2004, Dr. Malin developed the full curriculum for dental implants, bone grafting and dental restorations at LVI, and directed the program sense 2004 as a visiting faculty member.

Dr. Malin has lectured across the U.S., Russia, Germany, Italy and the Caribbean on full-mouth reconstructions and implant surgery and has received several awards for his contributions in implant and physiologic dentistry. He has been featured in several industry publications such as Dentistry Today and named one of the “Top Clinicians of the Year in Continuing Education.”
