Fundamentals of Digital Workflows

INTRODUCING A NEW COURSE: FUNDAMENTALS OF DIGITAL WORKFLOWS

As digital dentistry continues to evolve, many practices are looking for a clear and organized starting point for integrating digital tools into everyday clinical workflows. Fundamentals of Digital Workflows is a new addition to LVI’s course offerings, developed to provide a structured, foundational approach to digital scanning, design, and manufacturing processes.

This on-campus course is designed for clinicians and teams who are exploring digital workflows for the first time, as well as those seeking a clearer framework for how digital technologies fit within restorative and prosthetic care.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course introduces participants to the essential components and practical considerations of digital dentistry. Through hands-on demonstrations, case discussion, and workflow review, attendees will examine how digital systems are applied across common clinical scenarios.

Topics discussed include:

  • Foundational scanning concepts and digital record capture

  • Introductory design principles and digital model manipulation

  • Basic manufacturing workflows, including 3D printing applications

  • Digital workflows for fixed restorations, removable prosthetics, and splints

  • Diagnostic wax-ups and model production using digital tools

  • Considerations for integrating digital workflows into existing practice systems

The course focuses on clarity, organization, and workflow fundamentals, rather than advanced or system-specific techniques.
